-What is Next Generation Zone?
Next Generation Zone is a youth re-engagement center offering GED prep and career services to youth ages 16-24. Due to concerns over CODIV-19, our classroom, along with all other WA state K-12 programs, is closed through the remainder of the school year. In the meantime, we have shifted our GED program to an online format. This way, our students can continue to study and prepare for their tests without falling behind.
-How do I get enrolled?
Start by attending one of our online orientations! Orientations are offered every Tuesday at 9:30am. Click here to attend via Zoom.
-When and where can I go to class?
We offer classes in all four GED subjects Monday through Thursday via Facebook Live. Video of the class will also be archived on our YouTube Channel for those who can’t tune in for the live broadcast.
-Is one-on-one tutoring still available?
Yes! Tutoring is available through Microsoft Zoom. You can set up an appointment here!
-What does the Life Coach do?
The Academic Life coach at Next Generation Zone works with students to help them examine any life or academic concerns and barriers to success. Through one-on-one meetings and life skills classes, the Academic life coach provides students support in areas such as time management, procrastination, test preparation and stress. This coaching is an interactive process that empowers students to get from where they are now to where they want to be.

-Where can I get homework packets?

-How do I get a practice test code?

-Once I've received my practice test code, how to I start my test?

-How do I schedule a real GED test?
Our testing center is once again open, but on a very limited basis. For purposes of social distancing, we can only test one student per day. If you believe you are ready to take a test, but have not yet scheduled it, please contact Testing Coordinator Leyna Krow at LeynaK@nextgenzone.org.
-I want to study online, but I don’t have a computer at home. What should I do?
Spokane Public Schools is providing free laptop rentals for students in that district. More info about this program here.
-What if I don’t have internet access at home?
Comcast is currently offering three months of internet access for $10. More info here.

-How do I get a bus pass?
Unfortunately, we are not able to dispense bus passes to students while the GED classroom is closed.
-What about snacks?
Local school districts are offering free breakfast and lunch Mon-Fri. Please follow the links below to find a meal pick-up locations near you. Meals are available to anyone 18 and under. Proof of school enrollment is not necessary.
